These 2 were the kit back in the day.with a double crust jam sandwich in the jacket pocket.

If your digging then ebay for grade 1 hiax boots-35 notes.for that money I don't mind if I only get a season from them.tried most nothing lasts-stay away from harkila over priced and total wank imo.at

Tried most of the expensive ones Le chameau, lowa, meindle and now on my second pair of Altberg Defenders. £85 off eBay Comfy dry and take plenty of stick.

I had them meindl dorve boots, brilliant boot but not for digging, wasn't long putting a hole in the sole of them. I now use Arbortec fellhunter, a chainsaw boot, very heavy and not for plodding around in all day, but a good tough boot.

I gave over 200 for a pair of haix and I can't fault them foright digging a bit heavy but when there wore out I'll buy another pair. But I'll be getting them of ebay ad Daniel said. 2 of my mates got them on eBay and you can't fault them for that price

What's the lol about? Don't know if you been sarcastic or not. They are a heavy boot, and are comfy to a point, but you know your wearing them after 8 or 9 hours work and tripping over brash roots and briars, also waterproof, and best of all, your feet are safe from slip of saw.

i have the lowa mountain gtx, (there the same boot as the combat just lower on the leg) like carpet slippers for comfort and keep the tootsies bone dry! before these i used to swear by breamaster fell boots by hoggs. hard as nails boot, and if you look after them will last many a hard season, but be warned, they take some breaking in, i actually walked the last mile and a half home in me socks once they cut me feet up so much! lol

Get yea now, don't know how to put up links sorry, they are the class 3 version, like I said very heavy but are virtually indestructible. I've wrecked so many pairs of various brands but these are holding true.
