beddie or wheaton

Ihave a bull cross 1st to 1st cross and was just woundering if i should put a wheaton greyhound or a bedlinton greyhound to her. what do you think for coat and fieldcraft or am i barking up the wrong tree altogether.

beddy cross they can pull fallow and run hares for ten mins on the lamp...

well i have 1 of each! my beddy/whippx grey and my wheaten/grey x whipp/grey so both 3/4 crosses more or less. both retrieve fox and are good mooching bushing dogs but for shear prey drive id have to go with the wheaten. it all depend on what you want to do with the offspring really! both are also good lampers with plenty of stamina although chasing a hare for 10mins is a bit beyond them both . i would personaly go for a nice 1st cross wheaton or maybe 3/4 cross for that added bit of speed! but by no means underestimate the humble beddy cross. so to sum up there is no real answer so i'll shut up and go the pub!

I would go wheaten/grey bull/grey ive seen these type of dogs run on most quarry and they just simply dimolish everything they catch,and all single handed as well,Theres a lad on here chris hickling hes got w/g b/g called jack and this dog is just simply EVIL with quarry,but is bidable enough to work alongside other lurchers and terriers.

hi pal my mate has got a first cross wheaton greyhound .does fox deer.but nearly killed his mates lurcher. just three weeks today i also mated it to my bicth 23 inch whippet bull greyhound.

wat are you on about!i also lost my saluki about 8 months ago! and they are awesum dogs jumping lamping coursing good noses etc however they are rubbish with anything that bites back! there are of course a few that make the grade but most dont! thats why av now gt a bull greyhound bitch and at 10 month old what this dog is capable of is phenomenal! her all round character and attitude also brains is another league to salukis! so i would certainly opt for the wheaton cross or put youre bitch back to a bullx

THE DOG WAS A SALUKIGREYX BULL GREY THAT ANNIHALATED EVERYTHING (READ THE POST FIRST BEFORE COMMENTING) IT CAME IN TO CONTACT WITH SO PUT BACK TO A BULL CROSS THIS WOULD BE A GOOD MIX OF BULL WITH A BIT OF SALUKI WITH STAMINA AND GOOD FEET. WHAT COULD A DOG OF 10 MONTH OLD DO APART FROM RABBITS, IF IT WAS TAKING HARE DEER OR FOX AT THAT AGE THEN YOUR A MUPPET AND KNOW NOWT ABOUT DOGS AND A SURE FIRE WAY OF REARING A JACKER, GET IT RIGHT. LET THE DOG BE A PUPPY MOST LADS WOULDNT EVEN RUN A DOG TILL AT LEAST 12 MONTHS TO 2 YEAR OLD. BUT IF YOU ARE THAT DESPERATE TO CATCH AND KILL THINGS THEN THATS YOUR CHOICE , DOG HASNT MATURED MENTALLY OR PHYSICALLY (TENDONS AND MUSCLE NOT HAVING TIME TO DEVELOP) BUT YOU DO IT YOUR WAY AND ILL DO IT MINE
