For the lads asking,YES,RAZZMATAZZ is still about,he,s lying with his feet in the air on my sofa as I type, lol From the stuff I've seen and heard about,he's suppose to be throwing some descent animal

i've read the replys and understand that i will end up with a bitch that can't turn, has no stamina and will either have to be retired after 1 season with foot injurys or will possibly die after a nast

I remember that big hearted little bitch, Cashel's Evening was her name

I don't think she would do too well on small land. Those greys seem to take forever to turn.

in my opinion she was tucked in well behind it. And if a greyhound wouldn't do well on small fields no dog would? They are fast as f***ing hell. Put your dog on a 80-100 yard slip amd see how all these perfect lurchers fair up lol not having a dig just saying.

Also, alot of these coursing greyhounds wasn't used after they started running cunning...my experience is limited on coursing circle but this is what I was always led to believe. Anyone confirm this!?

Yes fast as hell and the tuning circle of a barge, hare would be gone on small land.
so that bitch in the clip over shots loads did she? When paired up they loose more ground as well due to avoiding collision...also like as I been said plus max has said, she was brought over just to give her a go...who's to say after a season she could of been a killing machine lol....

It's like taking out a lurcher for first time ever, even the first season, if everyone's truthful...most lurchers take a while to know the crack...

The bitch was ran in america on the Jackrabbits, and had 2 damaged toes on a back paw 1 of which had to be amputated, that was before coming over to run in the Waterloo

Her turning is awful, it's not about this particular bitch, greys in general are awful bad when turning. This is why lurchers are used.

If you got the space and time go for it that one I had was a real pleasure to own he was about 75lb tall but not Overy muscled about 28 inch obviously never had the stamina of a good lurcher but could put a few things away each night had good feet as well. We bought a litter sister back when we went to meet the guy that bred him and another member off here had her and she was about 2 when got her but she started to learn how to run behind game it was good to see a dog start to use its gears to catch but sadly she died. I don't think the grey gets enough credit where the breeding of lurcher is concerned that prey drive etc

Where do you run Ginger Beard

Just a general location you don't have to be precise.

somerset/devon/dorset border from the coast up to the somerset levels.
certainly got the stuff that a greyhound would be lethal on lol

all except muntjac and chinkys as far as i'm aware.

Back along I’ve run pure greys with some success, certainly could be exciting to watch. I’ve considered getting another over the last few years but as they get bigger and faster they are becoming specialist track dogs which isn’t ideal in an all-round type lurcher. I would definitely look for a small bitch from staying lines if you go for one. A lot would depend on the ground you run and the quarry, big fields with long run ins will burn the greyhound, and faster lurchers for that matter, out pretty quickly meaning longer recoveries between runs..
