it has been done before think there's a video on YouTube of one. I use a 240v electric strimmer motor does the job.

just the job then,i bought a small 12v motor for £20 and a 12v battery think i saw one on youtube ,using a cordless drill and a fishing reel looked

no not unless the drill is 12v and plus you wouldn't need a battery that big and heavy. Like I've said I use 12v 12ah battery that last for hours it's little and light and doesn't break your back when carrying it about.
