Alan... 172
Went shooting on Saturday night and put my rabbits in salt water in the fridge in the cellar like I normally do for 24hours, but it's just dawned on me I've forgotten about them, so after 62 hours in salt water, will they be no good? Busier these days with a new born, easy to forget things lol Alan
ftm 3,357
personally I wouldn't eat them but if its nice and cool they be ok [curries/stews???]
walshie 2,804
They'll be safe to eat if they've been in a fridge, but they won't half be salty.
Alan... 172
It is very cold as it's also my beer fridge, and we usually only stew them, at work at the moment will have to have a look when I'm back

jok 3,186
Mate. There's no sell by date with salted anything. Get on with it and get them eaten. Can't go wrong. Jok.

Alan... 172
Think thats what I'm going to do, flush it out a bit, more worried about the water than the salt, but everyone thinks they'll be ok Cheers
forest of dean redneck 11,519
Stuff used to be preserved in brine(salt water) years ago and hotdog sausages tinned fish still is if kept cool should be fine,I just wouldn't add extra salt when cooking.
neil cooney 10,416
Yep ,you pickled them and they wont poison you so you've nothing to loose by cooking them. I'll guarantee one thing, I bet they'll be tender.
