jeemes 4,485
Whos a fan of this type of cross. They look like they can run but do they have the heart for it. I know they are said to be dog aggressive but is this also true or just the odd one? Quote Link to post

I know they are said to be dog aggressive but is this also true or just the odd one?depends on how much socialising they get, King of dog aggression is the pit bull, and they do fine working as teams Quote Link to post
mighty celt 996
No doubt about there heart if there breed from right stuff. 2 Quote Link to post
roundmouth86 251
I've fancied one of these for a while maybe 3/8 Wheaton 5/8 greyhound but do they get the height as I prefer 26" and above 2 Quote Link to post
Wild-Bill 500
Had a few of them over the years decent alrounders and definently have the heart. But not in the same league as a bull cross imo. Good with the jacket tho and haven't decent feet and wind. They make handy Vermin dogs but as said above some do definently lack height, just for one from the right stuff and shouldn't go wrong. 1 Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
Charlie chaser on hear has one, it's seen some graft. As for heart you couldn't question it it's as game as you can get Quote Link to post

But then again weve a lot of dogs that hed be socialised withI think it can all be down to socialising. Although the some dogs are just bad naturally I haven't seen one that's been a problem apart from a 3/4 bred I had he was moody f****r in the kennel fine anywhere else.... Quote Link to post

VOON 1,317
Hi had a halfx bitch from pup, socialised practically every day, after 2 year old the bitch hated any and every dog, even the ones she grew up and worked with, it was not through lack of work or socialising either. Was it because of the work she was doing? Possibly. After killing one of the Mrs pet dog was an end to her, A good mate of mine has a bitch halfx, I wouldn't like to ask how much the bitch cost him in vet bills to other dogs. But she doesn't get the work. I got a halfx wheaten dog now retired that is the most level headed dog I know, would never start but would definitely be the one to finish. I got a firstx wheaten dog 2 year old that is not to great with people, fine with me and the kids but hates strangers, I got a halfx wheaten dog pup 5 months old, confident strong dog, very forward. Just like the old dog when he was a pup. Funny things these wheatens. They ain't everyone's cup of tea. And I guess every dog is different. Patience and a strong bond is a must, you have to spend time with them. I like the halfx personally because I like to do all sorts, day/night what ever when ever and they never seem to injured to often. Compare them to a Bullx, work wise they are different. But nothing a Bullx can do that a wheatenx can't IMO. ATB Always found wheaten crosses better at hunting cover......in general.....just a little cuter..... Quote Link to post
