skycat 6,174
Gutted for you: my sympathies mate. To anyone thinking of taking the pup on I'd not worry too much about the lack of time Redneck has been able to spend on her: they are so intelligent that a bit of one to one and getting the ground rules sorted should see her well on her way to getting back on track. They are strong minded, but very biddable with it and mine certainly really wants to please. Like Wild Dog says, mine too is awesome in cover, very agile and powerful and surprisingly quick. I always think mine looks like a giant fox as she flows through and round under and over obstacles: brambles, fallen branches etc. Superb nose too. Ideal for anyone wanting a real all round mooching/hunting dog. I know that one of the litter is already doing well on the lamp too, and they not quite a year old.

skycat 6,174
[quote as stated before they cant be shut in all week they need to be occupied, she wont make a pet dog which why i got to sell her. I agree: mine would have gone round the bend if I didn't take her out and let her run hard and hunt for at least an hour every day: loads of energy and never gets tired. Doesn't mind the wet and cold one bit: she's just been swimming in a flooded river! And the mud just falls out of her coat once she's dry.
shepp 2,285
Sorry to hear about your troubles mate, I know what it's like to have a lurcher with that much smart working dog in it, they won't just sleep all day like a running dog. Someoneone will be very lucky to get hold of a well looked after unspoilt bitch like that. Good luck with your wifes recovery, I know it can be a slow road back but she'll get there. skycat 6,174
If you are really desperate how about contacting Lurcherlink? I know it's not an ideal solution but they do have a lot of contacts. I'd take her in for myself but I have a 15 year old cat and I think he deserves to end his days in peace having educated God knows how many pups! LOL Best of luck in finding her a home. I'ts a difficult time of year for people to take on a new dog as well, what with Christmas and family committments coming up.
forest of dean redneck 11,824
cheers for that skycat may try them i did think that with xmas someone that works in building trade etc that shuts for week would be able to spend a bit of time with her so may consider now a good time to have her it was worth a shot. ive put her on the barf diet and shes been pretty quiet as i feed her at night when i go to bed so keeps her occupied at night.
