Rat Smoker

Lads I know this has probably been done to death, I have some rats to sort out and wondered what's the best to use, the old chainsaw, or rat smoker, I have a old chainsaw engine,which I will fettle up if it comes to it, but I have a couple of questions, what fuel oil mix do you use, to make the right amount of smoke? Or is it better just to buy a smoker and have done with it,

so you don't up the mix a bit, this engine runs on 40:1 I think,it's a old thing, I will have to dig the info out on it,

Could not agree more the e rat attack smokers are shit and Arthur carters should have them stuck up is arse side ways the prick.any old engine will do one of the best was a old lawn mower with blade taken of you could just push it any where you needed it.

I seen one made of an old petrol strimmer and it done a good job.

If it's the box type exhaust then cut or punch a hole in it push a piece of copper pipe in and seal it with chemical metal putty for the hose I used coolant pipe from halfords £2.99 per meter atb

 

Edited to add garden hose is shite it gets to hot and melts

I use old hydraulic pipe with the metal fitting welded to a plate and bolted to exhaust, the pipe dos'nt get too hot so you can touch it without gloves.

cheers, I have never used that liquid metal, the exhaust has no out pipe as such,

So nothing to grab hold of, it's just started and ran well, it didn't want to idol but that's just adjustment, hope the picture works

Not the liquid one you can get a putty thar will stick any metal to any thing and is as strong as a weld

i took the box exhaust off mine and had plate made up with hole in it and he welded a pipe comiming off plate then ive put flex pipe onto it . bit of gasket sealer then bolt back on were the box went

Im olde school and the engine off a chainsaw strimmer etc. with to much oil in the mix.My lad bought a rat attack smoker,easier to use and more reliable,i concur they are shite.

The only reason you think they are more reliable is you used to much oil it clogs the spark plug up you don't need to do that
