I always found door knocking or even approaching farmers out on there land the best way of obtaining permission, it's harder to say no to your face than it is to chuck your letter in the bin or ignore an email, I would expect to get at least two yes,s for a day driving round asking, oh and know one has ever asked me for insurance, they usually ask that you shut gates behind you and don't shoot the sheep,

....not in suburban Lancashire....maybe you will get a result but the effort will make you sick. Iv worked on farms all over Lancashire and we got people knocking weekly

Only one of my permissions insists on insurance, but I have it for my benefit, not theirs.

i don't disagree with you at all blackbriar, my reply was just in the context of the op, but as he says he will get some as soon as he secures some permission so alls good

.... seriously Iv had half a dozen lads wanting to get into fieldsports... beating opened up a whole world to them, they get vermin shooting, they meet people who run pigeon shooting syndicates, wildfowling clubs etc etc

 

It really is a good way to get out there and get known...

Always good to have insurance, it's good practise plus, you can include it in any letter you write or card you gave printed. It shows you take what you do serious, especially where guns are concerned
