socks 32,253
I decided to move up a phase with clouds training and get her on some retrieving out of light cover ... She is keen and has started using her nose now to find ... In the first video you can see her using her nose to search for the dummy ... I didn't realise how deep the cover was in the second video lol ........ https://youtu.be/KiuqeC4uieY https://youtu.be/wDXXQdORoV0 17 Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
Great little clips Ken, bonny pup too! When a pup knows how to find, a dog will ALWAYS know how to find. You should post on how you got her to that stage, because for many, thats the crux. My daughter took my bin licker out for a spot of retrieving a few weeks back. Launched the dummy in a ditch very well overgrown. The dog lost it and as kids tend to do, my daughter came back and told me the tale of how they 'both' searched but never found that dummy. Bout a fortnight later I'm in the same spot, it was warm, just had a ball to keep the mutt occupied and fit. Just walking along to where i can chuck the ball and my dogs got a mark, dives into the cover and theres the 'original' dummy. Wonder how long 'they' searched for...? Not work related i know... Well, substitute dummy and ball for quarry, brought on right, it works both ways and much fun can be had... Ken, write it up on here, how you do make it work for you, thats what THL is really about.. I started my lurcher retrieving from cover with with a toy filled with some of his dry food,it was sealed up so he couldn't get it. He wouldn't use his nose at all before then and would just give up if he couldn't see it. Quote Link to post
krawnden 1,036
She's coming on really nicely mate. You said in another post she's a serious pup but she doesn't look it in those clips - just looks like she's having the time of her life. Exactly how you want 'em when training to retrieve Quote Link to post
