Dog Excessive Breathing

Help needed every time my dog runs a rabbit or hare when he comes back he's panting he's head off dog is just not the same only started happening vet said nothing wrong with him

Dogs pant as they can't sweat like us to cool down they do it to get the air round their body's to cool off it's still 15 degrees at night and hotter in the day time this could be the reason

When did it start happening? It's been roasting.

It happened first last week after a couple of runs dog was panting like I've never seen before then he was reall week on back legs

simple the dogs done too much give it a good rest plenty of water and keep it cool best you can, the dogs ran a hare and it wasn't fit enough by the sounds of it. They are natures greatest athlete IMO

No I've been jogging dog regularly since August so he's not really unfit for a couple of runs on lamp he's not had a long run to have over done he's self I think he's back to vets tomorrow for another check out

Get him fit before you run him.as has been said its very warm that could be why my dogs are out mooching for a few hours every day there fit but pant like fook after a run or to its the heat.

Chasing something will be a lot more tiring for the dog than jogging. I've been doing a few miles with mine on the bike but I bet if he got on a hare he'd be breathing out his arse in this weather.

Don't matter how fit your dog is, it's still very warm I was out the other night with my dog and he only ran a few rabbits and he was blowing out his arse
