Sighthound 49
Bought a MK 3 locator and collar of a forum member and it seems not to work. I'm hoping it's something I'm doing wrong. Can someone tell me the correct position of the transmitter batteries ie '+' side both facing upwards/downwards. Also am I listening for the same 'click' as a MK 1 ? Thanks in advance. Edited December 8, 2007 by Sighthound Quote Link to post
richie 1
if youre holding the transmitter with the batteries furthest away from you, the right one is positive up & the one on the left is positive down. the noise is a high pitched beep, depending on how close you get to it. richie Quote Link to post

Sighthound 49
do you know if the batteries are new ? in both, transmitter & locator ? richie Yes they are brand new (the 393 batteries are the same as my falconry transmitter) I've double checked using a battery tester. richie 1
are the terminals clean where the batteries sit, is there definately a connection when the lid is shut on the transmitter ? sometimes the metal piece on the lid of the transmitter can slide out of place, make sure its firm in place. failing that when you close the lid gently squeeze the the lid down to make sure the batteries are making contact with the lid. failing that, get on the blower to the bloke that sold it to you ! richie Quote Link to post
