When's your sloes ready walshie I can't find any up here

. They are a bit early round by me this year and people have been picking them since August, but I will wait until next month, as I only want them to make vodka, I,d rather they are a bit over than under done
yea I'm making the gin had a load of brambles yesterday with my 7 kilo of Chantelle's So bramble gin in the making

. Does that mean blackberry gin? I just use vodka because I prefer it, other than that it's the same as gin, i,m going to do some rose hip vodka as well next month as I pick loads of hips to make rose hip syrup, and as they have a shitload of medicinal properties in them I can get pissed in the name of medicine so that's a win win
never herd of hip , if you get loads send up enough for a Demi John and I'll send you money or I can send you a kilo of mushrooms tomorrow
sorry just read this, hips are the red buds left on rose bushes after they flower, we used to rip them open and stick them down people's shirts to make them itch, they are full of vitamin c meant to be brilliant if you have arthritis and help your digestive system, plus they are free and just grow in the hedges, when I pick them I,ll remind you and if you can't find any near you I,ll send you some, the syrup is lovely, I drink it like squash with cold water, also make jelly from it
got rose bushes up here thanks I'll investigate ??

I told my lad that sloes were actually 'wonka' berries....what Willie wonker made his sweets from....he managed about 4 chews before he freaked out

Does it really have an effect on coming years harvest if you pick them all,,,I thought a fruit harvest was down to pollination and weather conditions....??   Genuine question
