Does that mean blackberry gin? I just use vodka because I prefer it, other than that it's the same as gin, i,m going to do some rose hip vodka as well next month as I pick loads of hips to make rose hip syrup, and as they have a shitload of medicinal properties in them I can get pissed in the name of medicine so that's a win win

Greyman 28,619
Not ready yet Jim. Need another couple of weeks I reckon. main problem with waiting,is everyone else won't and by the time you get out they will all be stripped upto a height of 7ft, I have found the answer to this problem in the shape of a large step ladder on the back of my tipper, I tie it off to the ladder rack then tip the bed to go up to the tree top, I get lots of funny looks but always the most and the best sloes ever ,the tops of the trees are like a blue lawn when I get up there and they have had the best of the sun, I pulled three kgs off of one tree last year and there was probably another three still there when I was finished, shame my rose hip spot is on a narrow path and the truck won't fit so I still have to face the thorns to pick em
MAG1980 116
Quote I pulled three kgs off of one tree last year and there was probably another three still there when I was finished. Thats the worst thing to do is over pick them. if every year they get hammered they slowly reduce the amount of berries they produce every season. seen it plenty around where i live, trees just barren or just a pathetic odd few on their branches. So at the end of your quote were it says there was another three kilos left, I would,nt really consider taking less than 50 percent as over picking them would you,? I have been living in harmony with my environment for many years and have always been aware of leaving enough for next year be it mushrooms rabbits or berry,s so stop being so silly
