Francie 6,368
if there is one, as the Christians see it, then he's a c**t. this pretty much sums up my thoughts... Yokel Lol coming from the man that greyed to commit suicide how many times an gas a rentboy lol very happy he is.Once again man trying to blame God for the world's woes, when it's man that's causing death disease an destruction. What a spineless man probably got a chip on his shoulder because the Bible says Adam and eve, instead of Adam and Steve, Just what I was thinking lad
delswal 3,819
This topic cracks me up these days, thl massive are not experts in the bible lol Whoever on this topic says science disproves the bible, id like to see it, because morder acadamiea cannot do this, so I doubt anyone on here can. But its everyones choice what they beleive, but I find it funny people scoff at the bible but cant disprove it in anyway. Flip side to that is, prove the events that are mentioned in the bible really did take place then I will also become a believer until then, it belong's on the shelf under the best selling fictional section. Your right del flip it, but I'm not saying anything different, cause I'm not trying to prove anything to anyone, believe what you want, but it just annoys me when people rip into the bible when they've, not even read it. Well, I read it when enjoying a vacation given to me by Her Majesty, after all I had time on my hands so I thought why not. Maybe I am the wrong person to comment because I am a staunch non believer and will not be swayed unless it is totally proven and then, and only then would my opinions change. Lets be honest here we live in a modern world and I would like to think we are slightly more intelligent than our ancestors and not as easily led. Do the believers really believe that burning bush or parting of the sea nonsense along with Jesus curing the blind and feeding thousands with a fish and bread, and to wash it down turn water into wine? Tell me would they have had illusionists such as Dynamo in them days? If so it would explain a lot. But hey to all you believers if it makes you and your family happy to believe, keep on believing, don't allow cnuts like me or anybody else to tell you otherwise
scothunter 12,609
Im well aware of that! Read what i wrote again. We certainly dont teach kids in this country the earth is a few thousand years old and dismiss scientific facts as a divine hoax.

For me this is where we just have to be true to ourselves.......a chap like Francie believes the bible to the letter and i admire that.....me i dont buy it.....but i would still class myself as a believer as i dont feel that a book written by men and inspired by God really changes anything in what i can see with my eyes and hear with my ears......so when i use those most basic of senses to find answers i get the same ones every time and i cant ignore that.......its what " belief " is......no ?

gnasher16 30,531
I think the minute you stop trying to look at God as " a man " you start to see things with a clearer mind......ive tried to go to church but i just dont feel comfortable it feels like everyones staring at me although i know they,re not but i guess its an area of life we all have to just figure out on our own.....ive got a little hideaway abroad that i spend a lot of time at and theres a tiny little chapel tucked away up in the hills a few miles away i can sit in there for hours and completely clear my mind.....its then that everything makes sense and regardless of any scientific literature nothing makes as much sense as belief in a higher power......only when i come back to this crazy place do i even begin to doubt it ! That makes you spiritual, not religious. Being able to find some kind of inner peace and calm in this crazy ol' world, no matter how fleeting, can only be a good thing. Long may it continue Well this is where ive been finding that bit of peace of late......an old Cypriot boy of about 156 years of age has come and sat with me a few times he can barely speak a word of English but we,ve had some blinding conversations it just doesnt even enter his head that God could not exist......as it is for millions of people around the world.....but i guess we know better !
neems 2,406
The short answer is no,but the whole idea of a god or deity is warped today because of the desert cult's prevalence. christianity'll be dead soon, but then we'll still have islam and judaism.
