mushroom 12,918
They have found settlments that were buried under the sea at the end of the last ice age, that be roughly 10,000 years old and that's next to the shore as it is now... Imagine what's further out in deeper water Its amazing that your resolve still remains francie, it's a shame by the time you realise it's all bollocks it'll be too late for you ?Hi mate then discoveries back the bible up, there was plenty of land before the floor came, an buried the underwater settlements, no problem here. Offs ?????? The biblical flood you are talking about is oral history of the cataclysmic floods that happened as a result of glacial damms disintergrating releasing billions of tonnes of water. Destroying everything in its path, raising see levels by hundreds of feet. There is evidence of it in the scars on the land all around the northern hemisphere. No rain, no God just nature showing her raw power. Also the ruins are thousands of years older than the supposedly 6000 that nutters proclaim As I said if you want to live in the land of ignorance like so many others have done for thousands of years before you crack on. Just don't come on here spouting bullshit about "your research into the good book" because I can't resist calling out a liar ?
WILF 46,786
So I'm ignorant and a nutter now ! Lol......well I've been called worse ! Forgetting using other people's research etc etc......... If be interested to read what people think of the world in the here and now? Look around at what's going on, what do you reckon........I think we are in a right f***ing state. And it's all there in the book, if you look it clearly says the cause and effect of everything.........would the world be a better place if we had lived according to the book?

You can't seriously buy into the 6000 year bollocks surely not. As for ignorance I mean that in regards to believing a book written by men to be the word of some all powerful God... it's just barmy ? When I look at the world, it seems barmy that we don't want to live along biblicle lines. As for the age if the world, that's for better men than me to worry about....... neems 2,406
How come he never speaks to us then to put us on track when we falter? He only talks to schizophrenics,he likes the disabled. Except amputees,he's cured loads of people of things you can't see, from cancer to demon possession but never an amputee.
mushroom 12,918
The stories in the bible have been proven to come from much much older stories from across the world. From Spain to south east Asia, none prior to the beggining of the Torah years mentioned a God as being the catalyst. The first that we know to write them down were Sumerians in the epic of Gilgamesh.... So with just these facts alone it proves the bible is not what it is portrayed to be. How can anyone believe it? WILF 46,786
And what is the bible portrayed to be mate?.......a road map of the human condition that clearly shows how to live a better way.......I'd say it's exactly what it says on the tin?
gnasher16 30,112
Do people truly believe that the exact word for word dialogue of anything could remain perfectly intact over hundreds of generations of day to day living though......we all see in everyday life how quickly a story can get changed, twisted, added to through time.....i tend to believe the bible is a wonderful yet simple book written by man with the inspiration of God nothing more nothing less i dont really get why some folk see it as Gods original instruction manual and tell us to ignore it and go read a science book ! Yeah the Lord told Abraham he will preservre his word, an the I'm is just that. If you actually read the thing you might see a connection. Just say all you want, you haven't answered my question about the dating. How can you be certain of age of universe an earth, if even the scientists say the dating method is flawed? Do you agree it flawed big-time, an depends on assumptions, or you saying it foolproof? Sorry Nash that wasn't meant for you. Edited October 1, 2016 by Francie

JMHO It's humans that are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things all this talk of destroying the world is nonsense were just destroying the world WE live in there were many epochs before humanity and there'll be many after, I think a lot of "believers" just can't handle that their simply nothing special and there's no great meaning to their life, a flash on earth then worm food, it's survival of the species that counts in nature and humans aren't even close to being the most successful Edited October 1, 2016 by JDHUNTING

mushroom 12,918
Yes I can with proven methods (Uranium/lead) that are accurate to within 200,000 years, which in the geological terms is a blink of an eye. When these dates are found, the fossil remains in that layer are dated using other methods. Which are then combined with the U/Pb results and there you have a age
