delswal 3,819
Its mind blowing to think it all started by some miniscule thing living in the sea all those hundreds of millions years ago. Now that's something I cannot bring myself to accept .im Not saying it's wrong, no one can . Where have all the other minuscule half fish / humans gone , how come they stopped walking out of the seas , surely the chain would still be happening . Can't get my head around that one " Like why is a monkey still a monkey if that's where we evolved form?"
scothunter 12,609
Cz we were a different sort of monkey. Natural selection etc etc

If I dropped you naked into the deepest darkest rain forests along with a chimp in that environment who would be better evolved you or the chimp? ....humans followed a different evolutionary path to the apes and we hit the evolutionary jackpot mainly due to our social aspects .The reason we are top of the evolutionary pyramid is simply because we are the first to get there .With a few environmental changes and a few dna mutations there's no reasons why in time other species couldent over time become intelligent and it seems and makes perfect senses that once a animal reaches a certain intelligence level then that in its self excellerates the evolutionary process. ..that's how I see it . Can't get my head around that one Life will exploit any opportunity, when things first crawled out the sea there was an opportunity to eat food no other animals had access to, the animals that first did this are still here now ie mudskipper. As for evolution today? Well what are all the new diseases super bugs etc if not evolution

scothunter 12,609
Most of evolution took place before we were even born and took that long we never witnessed it. However evolution was seen in lizards. Cant remember the island but they took lizards frim one island and put them on another. Within 30/40 years they had evolved. Changed there jaw/stomach grew gills. Its more than a theory imo. Like i said earlier a lot more plausible and factual than some divine guy in the sky creating us and the world we live in. WILF 46,596
I don't much care either way as I'm here and I'm going to enjoy my life as much as I can. Knowing "the truth" wouldn't change a thing. What makes evolution more believable to me is the tiny steps involved. We didn't just turn from one-cell organisms into what we are today overnight. It has been tiny step after tiny step for thousands of years. You can see we are still evolving. We are getting bigger, faster and stronger than we were years ago. Look at the doorways in old houses. Becoming what we are from absolutely nothing in one step. Nope.can't see it. This is the bit evolution people have never explained to me, where did the one cell organism come from?.......I'm not trying to be a clever c**t, I genuinely want to know the explanation on how nothing becomes something and then that something gives itself life?
