mushroom 12,918
Because a group of wealthy, supposedly religious child buggerers sat down together and created the treaty of Nicaea. Where they basically decided what was what and what got included.... it's a sham!!! Always had been and always will be
kanny 20,542
So we can't produce a poppy seed from scratch despite having all the 'ingredients'. Am I correct in saying we cannot produce anything from scratch that carries life? If this is the case, the believers are going to keep believing as no one can prove that God or allah or whichever gods people believe in created life. Also the believers can never prove that god actually did create life hence these threads go round in circles all the time. I have to say there is some mind blowing posts in amongst the circles and I believe I am a pantheist (is that a word?) first time I have heard of that word but I have basically been preaching for at least a decade without ever knowing there is such a thing. I will research it further before I fully accept it as gospel (pardon the pun to the believers) respect to kanny, some of your posts I find truly fascinating. I'm in the same boat as in I've only recently discovered the word pantheism but when I looked into it I found well that's just about how Ive always seen things and now I have a name for it like you... I hate the world God because of all the stuff we have been fed over the years as soon as you say God a instant image of some bloke on a cloud with everyone bowing before him and blowing smoke up his arse pops into my head along with all the other nonsense that comes with such dietys and I just can't buy that .but with pantheism it's more of a awareness of everything and the connections between them how the energy runs throughout the whole universe through everything.. Maybe it's the closet hippy in me I don't know but it just clicks with me and more so the more I look into it. Edited September 29, 2016 by kanny

Or are you more just in the region of those two spiritually?
kanny 20,542
I would say I'm in that region spiritually I don't think God grrrrr lies outside the universe as in panentheism but is the universe as pantheism... Its still early days for me yet

Thats not to say I'm looking for some comfort of a afterlife . pantheism doesn't work like that we are all going to be here till the end of time in some form whether thats a conscious form is another matter. The Seeker 3,048
Within probably the next years the vast majority of people on this forum will have died, this is a fact no-one can escape the end. is it so hard to even accept the possibility that there is a God or creator? We will all know for sure soon though I suppose. if you do not believe in a creator then by my understanding the vast majority believe there can only be two explanations either we come from some alien species and were planted here or we are just a consequence of a primordial soup born out of rocks and the sea as some random event. Not only did that random event survive and produce millions of species, humans, birds, insects, fish etc but it is estimated that there is less than 1 chance in 10 to the 40,000 power that life in a single cell organism could have originated by random. Im no maths expert but I understand 10 to the 40,000 power is a 1 with 40,000 zeros after it. I find that anyone who can honestly say hand on heart that they don't be live in a creator yet can accept the random odds of the aforementioned alternatives as fact very strange. Ive said it once and i will say it again you need to find your own path and follow it. Do not be swayed by ignorant people who seek to ridicule, be patient with people who are seeking genuine answers. ATB

ATB With billions years and a vast empty planet for it to happen on, why would such odds seem impossible. The other option is to believe in something thought up by man with no scientific theory behind it, with even lower odds of being possible.

Francie 6,368
What is the method mate, of determining 42 billion years? Is it the fossil dates the layer of rock, or the layer of rock days fossil/ or rock, how do they determine billions of years, chances are next to nothing as seemed pointed out? DogFox123 1,379
We do have a creator, the Big Bang. It's hard to get your head around but it seems more plausible than a big man sat in space watching over us. A man who we can't see despite reaching the edge of our Solar System, a man who allows suffering beyond belief to all creatures on earth...
