Selective pressure is what drives it,our selective pressures haven't just stagnated,they've almost all been removed.

That means that new and unhelpful mutations that pop up aren't culled,and make it into the gene pool,slowly dragging us all down.

Evolution means some factor decides who reproduces more,so the pressures of famine,disease,low fertility,predators etc etc have now been removed in our wealthy,liberal and high tech countries.

Neanderthal man was just that a man, bigger stronger, an bigger brain.

 

There's a very well known dentist, I can't remember his name bad, he analysed the actual Neanderthal bodies, primarily there teeth, an he came to the conclusion that there were men nothing else.
