Testing Shots But Got The Results I Practiced For.

Recommended Posts

I made a firm decision last week to push my range limits out to a full 50 yards in - "perfect conditions only" - with the HW 100 KT .177.

So last night I took the rifle to a very testing spot on one of my permissions.

Looking behind my dog/ squirrel, you`ll see a dark embankment under a low canopy of Oak trees.

This area is exactly 51 yds away and pin point accuracy with exactly one mill dot hold over is achieved.

Both rabbits (mixy free) were hit precisely just behind the eye ( instant despatch) at 51 yards.

The grey was shot high up in the canopy smack between the shoulder blades at 49 yards lased.

The pellet strike was very loud, with instant despatch again but the very high shot and fall then the retrieve was incredible to watch, - seriously considering a shot trak camera.

A few more photos to follow.

Notice the leaves are far less at the top of the tree canopy, - I`ve a very keen eye and I spot any squirrel movement easily.

This area is exactly 49 yards from my position.

The squirell was stretching up to take an acorn, with it`s back to me. The head was obscured by branches but between the shoulder blades was exposed for the shot.

He was dead the instant the pellet struck.

Here`s Kaiser with the retrieve, - he misses nothing.
