I do a better job mate and as I burn a lot of rubbish I like to do it regularly, your house insurance will always try and wriggle out of paying but I,m an old fashion bloke and would never pay anyone

Just gave the chimney a good sweep and chopped about half a ton of wood, can't believe it's that time again, soon be dark nights and roaring fires

We had an open fire when we moved in here but had to get it raging to get any benefit, all the heat disappears straight up the chimney. Got a log burner fitted, soooooo much better.

Your house insurance might not pay out for a chimney fire if you don't have it done by a "professional"

Cheers, D.

Just drop a live chicken down it.

. I don't think the misses would like the mess of a sooty chicken running round the house, in days gone by a rope was just dropped down the chimney and attached to a branch which was just pulled down the chimney job done,

If my house ever burns down I'm fooked! Lol I put the fire in myself, I've blown myself across the kitchen changing light switches, replaced lintels etc etc but you live and learn, lived here a good few years and it's not set on fire or fallen (yet) ......

Anybody want a cheap house? Lol

I'd love an open fire.

The last time we had one was when I was a kid and we lived in a mobile home.

I'd go with Dad to get the coal, he'd pay for 1 sack and take 2. I remember carrying one home when I was 7.

It was heavy and smelly and dusty - Happy days :)
