scothunter 12,609
That captured SAS guy had a few funny comebacks to the reporter. "What was going through your mind"? Hopefully not a bullet lol "We tried to persuade him that we weren't going to do him any harm...." "With a gun pointing at him ?" "Yeah...on reflection, the gun probably didn't help......" And he's definitely perfected the steely-eyed stare ! you were right. He's being investigated for putting 3 iraqis "out thier misery" lol
THE STIFFMEISTER 15,932
I think the most amazing thing about the sas is that they are just like us, nothing more or less, just the absolute best soldiers in the world, There is no hidden gulag of maverick renegades ready to be unleashed from steel cages or a team esq heroes to be delivered James Bond style from planes subs or adapted vans Just regular honest men with a determined nature to be constantly the best, that's the biggest secret they have They are just men, with our problems , our worries but do an extraordinary job

Nik_B 3,790
I worked with one guy who was ex sas and he said they spend most of their time sitting in ditches just watching...not what the TV leads you to believe. Another one was in intelligence monitoring the IRA, they had trackers on their weapons caches and would break into their houses to see what they were up to, sometimes playing mind games by moving ornaments etc I'm sure the snatch squads attached to the US special forces got plenty of action though. If a cache vanished or moved suddenly they would know something might happen. The British government was crafty as hell, they killed many top people who wouldn't flip but let the likes of Mcguinness and Adams live because they were compromised or corruptible...that's how peace was achieved.
