ftm 3,357
as a young lad with a springer I rarely shot past 25yds but pcp puts a whole new meaning to accuracy and as im a "head shot" only person I do like to push my boundaries and think nothing of it if I totally miss a target -I just think " there,s always a next time" most of my shooting is 40+ yds but I did take a woody at 60+ yds once - think its been discussed before and I know its not everyones cuppa but if you are a very capable /confident shooter and weather is right there is no reason not to push the boundaries lads 3 Quote Link to post
Gary73 62
Look at it this way £4000-£5000 FT setup out to 55 yards, how many cleared courses do you see in the regional leagues or the GP's, Euro's, Worlds by the best in the World. Then throw in HFT as an even better example only out to 45 yards with the same kind of gear, how many cleared courses by how many people. LOL convinced myself now 40 yards max, average day 30-35 yards. I did some testing inside a barn at 30 yards today and will post the pics up which confirm my thoughts for me, others might be better shots. Here are the result indoors 30 yards, bipod and rear rest 5 shot groups JSB exact Rs 13.43gr This is the best I can do so I reckon my limit is 40 yards based on the pics. Blue area is 1" circle best group is 0.42" edge to edge about 10.5mm. Worst is about 0.55" about 14mm. I have named the picture with the different style target "Got lucky" 5 shots 30 yards hw100kt .22 Jsb exact rs Edited September 8, 2016 by Gary73 3 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
With grouping this excellent standard Gary, seems to me that, you could confidently take long range shots out to 50 yards and over, with no real worries 1 Quote Link to post
