I've two views on him

 

First off I'm annoyed at the man had buck and brey lines which were proven to be some off the best in the UK and he thought he could fix something that wasn't broke.

 

Second opinion is for the terrier community he designed a line that in his opinion would be superior fox dogs and he's the only breeder I'm aware of that you get a guarantee.

Has anyone on here ever dug over Nuttalls Miner ?and why was he held in such high regard ?was it for his work or his ability to produce.im sure it was both but be nice to hear from someone who seen him in the field

Talking shit again you dickhead . I know the man well and stayed in his house .and listened to him .and he saw a big dog years ago off rocky and bitch was his from hunt kennals and wouldn't take a mating because of size and era and for all time previous and thereafter .all about small dogs to him . and say you don't have nothing better in your TeX book digging and green game and plush puff area!

To the bostik kid ,resulting to insults don't make you right neither does listening to a man who lost all credibility years back .The small dogs were and are a result of him breeding from anything that fits the type instead of staying true to his early years .Brian has always maintained there was never any early stuff different to what he has now and that its been a continuation of type but looking from the outside in and seeing what has occurred ,the amount of terriers churned out ,the truth is blatant to anyone with an interest .

You have your memories of him pabs and I'm truly sorry if I've upset anyone but that's the way I see it .

All I can say is the black stuff that drew me to wanting Patterdale back in the 80s which I was told were Nuttal bred were a completely different looking and size of animal to what he keeps today.

D.F I was at a mates house getting a bitch lined and he is very good friends with Brian, he was gifted a very small bitch that looks like a pug/pom so you are more accurate than you realise, he was also selling pups at Peover 2 years ago that were all undershot for 250 pounds, if I look back in my files I may even have pics of both, WM

If anyone has the working terrier yearbook 1981there is a Q and A with Brian in the back and a picture of 2 of his terriers.This is how I remember the first black terriers I saw back in the 80s and remember the older lads telling me they were Nuttals.
