DogFox123 1,379
Well he must be confident in his dogs to tell you if it don't work bring it back and he will replace it Yeah and then he will breed of it or from it and so fort and more shite on the merry go round,Lee dont be mislead by the big names in the terrier world, there is much better in lads back yards that no one knows or heard of.Brian has bred some good terriers but anyone with half a brain would have to agree with the amount of pups he has bred he is bound to breed a few workers along the line at some stage, you could put 2 non-workers together and they could throw a couple of workers but the % of non workers or failures he has bred out-weighs the workers by a long shot, again not knocking the man,his dogs his buisness what he does with them and if there is a market for them then good luck to him,as i have said before met Brian a few times and always the gentleman.Way off, if you breed shite you consistently get shite, Nuttall didn't. His line stood the test of line for years and his influence on the Terriers have been an asset. You do know that he bought in dogs from his own line? You're talking as though he bought in any old dog of anyone.like I said before I know of pups he's bought from 2 separate litters that were NOT his breeding and sold them as his own.One of his recent stud dogs was out of one of these pups although the dogs invented pedigree says different.I also know a lad who was asked to run on a couple of second season bitches that had supposedly had a promising first season. Both were returned within a month as they were useless,One off these bitches was bred from shortly after.I know a bloke local to me who Brain kept in contact with to see what he had on, sometimes he'd buy them in off him but the dogs went all back to him anyway so I don't see the problem. Which dogs are you talking about and what bloodline are they from? Edited September 24, 2016 by DogFox123 Quote Link to post
jiggy 3,209
If he breeds dogs and bitchs in large quantitys he will quickly hear reports on which are the top producing sires/dams and which are muck i bet if he wanted to give someone close a decent bred pup he would know which to give them, but the lads at the bottom of the cue will recieve the wastage. 3 Quote Link to post
rob284 1,682
Not trying to be a smart ass fat man, but what have you done to better the breed? Amd what makes you or your buddies dogs any bettter? Just curious because that mans faimly has done alot for the bred. So to say because he sells pups that his dogs are no good is b.s. in my book. So what a man is supposed to breed his dogs just to gift them out? Lol..looks like a beggers move to me.i have some of the tightest skull/maverick blood over here and if your not part of my camp or paying for it plan and simple. And if you buy pup from anyone, you have a 50/50 chance of it not working thats a chance we all take when we buy untested dog..and for you guys who outcross this to that, that tells everyone there is no consistency in your dogs..thats commen sense..Nuttall has done a lot but, the lads behind the scenes, who don't seek attention have done a lot to improve their chosen line. it's just you Americans don't know them and never will. If they don't seek recognition people like you won't know them. 4 Quote Link to post
rippem 455
I dont disagree with you that there is good guys that stay by themselves and keep there dogs to themselves. But i seriously doubt there on here. And they did start there lines off of someones elses dogs. Quote Link to post

All these blokes knocking his dogs off saying they wouldn't have one given but know for a FACT that they are no good.... So either they are still using his dogs and lying about it or hang around with fellas who keep shit dogs or just plain lying full stop... Quote Link to post

Your quick to slag off something you haven't seen. That's called naive. 2 Quote Link to post
rippem 455
And what do you have quarry wise that is bigger then ours? Your badger and fox looks just as big as ours. Our coons can get pretty big also. A 27lb coon isnt abnormal. The smallest thing we have is a the gray fox. So what do you have that you need a bigger dog then we do? And i may not be smart like you guys but i thiught the dogs job was to bolt or hold it in one spot so you could locate and dig to it and dispatch the quarry. Not let it stay and kill it on its own. Always thought it was a partnership. Dig to dog, pull quarry and dog out and dispatch properly..but hey im a stupid american. And your talking 22lb dogs or bigger? f**k man i can get game bred dogs almost that size. Atleast staffs i know i can.. Quote Link to post

dillydog 8,477
I've been over the pond and there's no comparison in the earth's or the shear amount of work for a terrier. The barns are a good bit of fun, they hold plenty of coons but fail in comparison completely. I never bumped into an American badger, the setts they excavate are nothing, imagine the easiest puppy earth you could start a terrier in and half it. The Fox is the exact same fox, vulpes vulpes, they do have the grey fox they're smaller. The terriers I saw work the coon got knocked up fairly badly, they're no pushover. 2 Quote Link to post
rippem 455
Let's see pics of your digs to your american badger with your 12lb dogs please mate, and pics of there setts please, just curious like i said before just getting back into the terriers. Mine all died off. Have 2 up an coming dogs now and 1 old bitch that is about 16 years old and and as game as they come. And as far as badger we dont have many so to find them is like winning the lottery. I havent been lucky enough but been on reds and grays and ground hog and coon. And as soon as my dogs are old enough i will post pics. Especially of the grays i will get..much tougher then any red. I have alot of hunting grounds and barns i have permission to hunt. And believe me i scout hard. I keep binoculars in my glove box and check feilds all the time..you come here i have enough spots to hunt ill keep you digging all day.. Quote Link to post

A lady that got me into hunting hunts jacks, her name is char smith and one of the finest dog woman there is.and her jacks would even beat a coon. Quote Link to post
