Just hate certain customers, who are really friendly to start with, agree to the price, and then when the job is done, complain about the bill and how expensive it is

And then say "All you have done is catch a few moles",

I used to pay £5 a mole.

I had a call last Saturday, bank holiday weekend from a posh hotel in the middle of the lakes, they have never used me before, for a wasp nest, i told them i would try and get to them late afternoon, i was busy doing a bird proofing job and thought i might just be able to fit it in, [ also going through my mind was they probably could not get hold of there usual pest controller it being a bank holiday], before i got the proofing job done i had 2 more calls from caravan parks that i do a lot of work for so they had to come before the hotel, i got home around half six, then the phone went, it was the hotel playing fck because i supposedly promised them i would be there, i explained that i had said i would try and i never promised anything of the sort and that i could be there first thing sunday morning, they said that was not good enough and that they would get someone else, fair enough says i and down went the phone, me thinking fck em, i took the dogs for a walk and when i got back my misses says they have rung back and could i please go next morning, so half past eight bank holiday sunday morning i am scrabling around 3 stories up on a slate roof looking for a wasp nest that there own pest controller had failed to find 4 days before.

THIS IS GOING TO COST THEM.

This particular customer (No longer a customer) is a local businessman, lives in a large detached property, expensive cars.

Can only assume that he is so used to paying his employees peanuts that will not pay me what was agreed.

 

He said would only pay less than half the bill as that is all its worth, the real insult is that he thinks catching moles (7 moles) is really easy.

 

I told him not to bother sending any money and don`t ever call me again, felt good at the time, by now as I write this I am hoping that he does pay at least something to cover fuel if nothing else. I was even recommended to him from another customer!!

 

Luckily, people like him are very rare

one thing i was told as a kid and never forgotten,dont ever touch another mans dinner and never feck him about over money,you should laid him out lol,failing that local business man,big property flash cars,id be getting my moneys worth one way or another

It's a pain in the arse having to go through the hassle of it, but if I was in your shoes I'd use the small claims court. I've only had to do it 3 or 4 times in 20 odd years but every time I've been awarded the full amount of the claim.

I always find the ones with the flash cars and house are the worst for paying. A couple jobs ive done in the past ive had to make a couple return trips to badger them for my money. I eventually got it, but its hard not to get heated and tell them what you think. I usually do after ive got my money lol.
