Sean FitzGerald 0
Of course it will not hold up or be as durable as a synthetic stock , that goes without saying but still very durable .and the brief was simply asthetics Atb Nath And thanks for the replies they are much appreciated any reason that you did nt use a two pack? that would of been a lot more durable Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
nath92 84
As stated mate the criteria was asthetics , secondly if or when he wanted it returning back to a wood coloured stock the current finish will be easier to remove as apposed to two pack would therefor keeping the cost down for him in the future Atb Nath Quote Link to post
nath92 84
Further more two pack finishes damage just as much as the finish i used , i know this as i have seen and done this , two pack can be a lot harder to rectify Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
It's great to see what craftsmanship chaps bring to this site, with posts like this. Well done nath. I'm not a fan of synthetic stocks or plain black but, this looks really well done by you. Spanish arms giant Gamo are building BSA rifles now and their cheap, corner-cut workmanship is, alas, a poor reflection on BSA nowadays, for what used to be a fine quality English gunmaker. I like the look of that Hornet stock too. In a really nicely finished and oiled beech it would look a beautiful gunstock for an air rifle. I like the chequering too. Rather like the Weihrauch HW97K Bavarian sporter stock's finish. What a pity Gamo are allowed corporate vandalism like poor finish, among other ills I see with BSA guns from them nowadays. Lovely work Nath. Well done sir. All the best. Simon Quote Link to post
