Blackbriar 8,569
His popularity stems from the fact that he says what his audience want to hear, in language they understand. He is the "'anti-establishment' candidate, running against an opponent who is the personification of "the establishment", which is probably his greatest strength. His greatest weakness is probably that his appeal is only among a narrow demographic, and if he is to succeed, he will have to broaden his appeal much more. He may be way behind in the polls, particularly among female and ethnic voters, but (and its a big "but") a recent poll indicated that 2/3 of voters view Clinton as "dishonest and untrustworthy"....don't count him out just yet.

That's how civil wars start Maybe the fact that Donald J has let the genie out of the bottle will force some concessions from Clinton IF she wins ? He has spoke the unspeakable, and has bought contentious issues out into the open (albeit a little boorishly at times) - and I, for one, salute him for that, if nothing else !
