jok 3,227
9 years I've waited. All the anglers promise me a 3 to 4 pound zander. Have Inhad one.? Not in your life. What is the problem with catching these things? Not being that kind of fisherman I do despair. I'm even cooking a damn meal for whoever gets me one. Know what guys? It is by far the best fish I have ever put on the table. Anyway. Back to the experts. Jok. 1 Quote Link to post

green lurchers 16,602
few of the best times to increase the chance of catching zander when i used to fish for them ,westerly winds, low light with cloud cover, just before dark, just after dark, coloured water, when its rained or raining, moving water, fish a stretch straight after a match, , least amount of resistence on your rigs as possible, sit over your rods and unclip line as soon as you get a take and feel the fish by hand , fish the margins , fresh killed bait 4in long on a vic bellars double on a home made trace use tube sleeving, oh and be quite , hope this helps it worked for me over the years Edited September 2, 2016 by green lurchers 4 Quote Link to post
waltjnr 6,670
have to agree jok,im not a fish lover (eating) but used to work with an interesting welder fitter for RMC ,He made a cello from scratch at work ,a four year course he done it in 18 months, truly stunning when finished! had an allotment at work that our farmer used to plough ,to give an idea of size, built a broard beam boat at work from scratch, and used to dismantle concrete silos on farms for extra dosh in he's spare time ,he used to bring in double figure zander he'd caught on the Ouse and cook them at work ,absolutely gorgeous ,big chunks of flaky white meat like the best cod! 1 Quote Link to post
