mark williams 7,563
I shot a rabbit with mixy on one of the permissions a week or so ago. I went back to the permission tonight for an hour or two and shot another with mixy. Three months back these rabbits were as healthy as can be,- what a horrible, introduced disease this is. I wanted to show the otherside / shot side of the rabbit ( mixy) but it might have got pulled. The eyes show the start of this horrible, introduced disease. atb Quote Link to post
philpot 5,062
I can only agree Mark. A friend of mine used to drive trucks in Australia where mixy was first introduced, he said the drivers used to simply stop the trucks and fire a pistol into a grey field, the grey field was tens of thousands of rabbits, you could not miss and quite often you would pick several up with one shot and BBQ them at the side of the road for lunch. He said until you have seen the sheer volume of rabbits that were there, you can't understand why the government would release the disease. One thing is for sure mate, they should have left it over there because the UK has never had rabbit issues like they did down under. I have taken a couple out in the past few weeks, really awful. Bunnyblatter 1,012
One of my permissions was virtually wiped out a couple of year ago. We'd regularly get double figures on the permission but we've only just started seeing them making a bit of a come back so we're leaving well alone this year 1 Quote Link to post
