i dont belive you can speack for all australians there and im assuming you've never seen how most pig hunters get there dogs started and the rest of this is not addresed at you stevemac

many poeple i know will catch a wild pig and occasionaly let the dogs go so they learn to hold it befor the real deal so no dog nor preson gets hurt the pig is left with nothing but sore ears its the same thing the dogs learn whats ment to be hunted and learn the correct meathod of doing it so when it comes to getting the job done they do it without encountering any hassels for example a dead pup they also do it when there isnt as much game arouond to start a young dog on

also are you telling me you've never shot somthing and let the dogs go knowing that the animal cant get away just because you want to bring up a pup up or because its just fun to watch or that you've pulled the dogs of an animal and let your pup go when the animal has no chance of living because you want the pup to have a shot on its own.

just because its tied to a rope dosent mean that it cant fight back of coarse it can it might die in the proses but its no different to a fox fighting back and diying the wolf knows the drill run get caught then go back to bed were it can sleep out the rest of its days and occasionaly getting the brought back out to run a few hundred meters and get caught agian

there is no cruilty in what they are doin for all you know that wolf is brought home and patted by the fire every night and then has been trianed to run and play dead there not setting it on fire and then putting it out there just letting it run then lie down havent you ever seen your dogs playing and biting each other then one will get pinned one the ground and submitt and stop moving i bet the same thing is happening all the wolf is doing is submitting to a domiant animal

i maen there proberly just betting on which dog gets there first so what im sure none of you have ever done anything of the kind

I guess everyone has their own idea of what constitutes sport or fair law and what looks like either cruelty or at least poor sportsmanship. The animal in Doxhope's video took time to die but it only had to go through it once. It's the same if you slip a pup on inexperienced rabbits or milky does out of season or pull experienced dogs off to let a young dog have a go. For me, it's wheeling a psychologically defeated wolf out time after time for what looks like a half hearted run by the dogs that's the problem. It looks like a degraded form of hunting from my non-russian perspective.

Now Allgame Im 50yrs old and have been doggin since I was about 7 I caught my first pig when I was about 13, just me and my dob. x lab. now theres not much I haven't seen in my 43yrs doggin. but Ill tell you this for nothing the reason we can still do what we do today is because there never was no internet or hardly any magazines around until resent years to advertise to all and sundry about what you may need to do to get a dog going the way you want.

At the height of the hunting protest in the UK, there was a video going around of a fox being droped out of a bag for a pack of young entered hounds of cause they caught it and killed it. Now that may be what some hounds men deem as what is nessessary to get their young chargers going but the video of it went a long way to help nail the lid on the coffin of peoples freedoms.

Thats a valid point about the bagged fox...never seen the video myself and have never heard of it or even heard an anti-hunt Mp or anti organisation make reference to it either, however i am sure it exists.

But again you are applying western morals and western opinions to this, i will re-iterate what my colleague the russian speaker/expert stressed, they have NO animal rights movement, they ALL wear fur, They dont care what their country men do to a wolf, there will be very few in russia that would even look twice at this video or even the spectacle itself , it is just part of what they do..

There is no fear of any ban in Russia, they have no ANTI organisations to worry about and do you think their government would listen to international animal rights groups/terrorist's????

Good point compo Eastern countries do look at things differently it may be that one day we will have to travel to these countries to get a hunt how sad that will be. How ever the bunny huggers look at at things in their own F@#ked up way and they wont care who they are using that type of video against.

If thats how you think you need to start your wolf hound then by all means, I just dont think we need to help them get rid of us.

Steve

read all my posts, i dont want to re-write them here, but the spectacle you saw was NOT a training exercise, It was not a way to get a dog started

I wonder what would happen to the anti's in Russia if they made a nuisance of themselfs as much as they do in this country?

Joe

what my workmate told me, they wouldn't make a nuisance of themselves, their isn't any for a start and a lot of the Russia higher classes and politicians "hunt" and "course" so they would quickly dissappear :yes:
