Does it matter why they were doing what they were doing? I think what people object to is the wolf being tethered and used over and over. If it was given a free run and either escaped or died there'd be no problem. Some people think that it's not right to use an animal like that, whatever the reason, and some people think there might be a good enough reason to justify it.

I preferred Doxhope's video to the russian one at a gut level, because of the behaviour and condition of the prey - one looked like a free animal fighting for it's life and losing, the other looked like a repeatedly abused animal given neither the opportunity to fight for itself nor the release of the kill.

Its baiting, pure and simple.

Nothing to do with hunting.

Nothing to do with training, unless their training the dogs to not actually catch and kill a wild wolf.

My thoughts exactly, i hunt and im proud of it, i dont bait and i would be ashamed of myself if i did - whether it was in the name of training or not. Different strokes for different folks i suppose but that aint for me.

It has been stated on this topic that the russians have a different outlook on things why frown on what they do. Hunting is all but fecked in this country because people started to frown on what we do!

COMPO good input :good: why do they do what there doing to the wolf on the clip does it have a purpose?

the only purpose is that their wont be many wolves in the area, so they used a "canned" one

dawn as i said before its not a training exercise its what they do

We are all commenting on this from a western perspective, live in minus 40 and hardly have enough to eat and live in a very hostile and politically harsh country with the only comfor being vodka and wolf coursing and then maybe, just maybe we may understand their view point in life

different folks different strokes, i aint condoning or criticising them its what they are and what they do

before i say this do not take it the wrong way

i do not agree with it what so ever but do you not think that we look at it in a differant light as its dog on dog

i mean had it been a rabbit or somthing there would have not been all this fuss

i mean if you live catch a rabbit in a trap and let it go in the middle of a field when slip your dog same thing different animal

well sort of you know what i mean jmo
