One For The Tech Heads

Recommended Posts

Cheers Mac, I will get some different pellets to try.

Deker the over powered situation is not my rifle but an identical situation shown on the vid link with 'Teds Holdover' which was an over powered HW .177 FAC and was given as an illustration to the pellet flight path, not the same problem, I see the confusion as we were talking about the same link on another thread so perhaps it seemed to be offered as THE problem but that was not the case here.

Surely as the old boy suggests,if the head is "loose" in the barrel, then using a smaller headsize pellet would exacerbate the problem??? so logic would dictate using a larger headsize surely, or simply trying some different pellets altogether, as that may be the problem all along.

Totally agree and I will have to bite the bullet and get a selection in when I have finished my bloody decorating, who said I would have loads of spare time when I am retired !!!!!!!!!!

My local RFD has a few opened tins for range testing guns so they will be the first to try which saves a bit of cash. God I sound so fecking tight, holiday to pay for in two weeks time, I need a lottery win or a bit of one will do fine or get the wife to do an extra little part time job.......................12 hour shifts down the pit

I did wonder about that trick David but to be honest I would prefer to find a pellet that shoots straight before adding any lube. The selection of pellets locally is very poor meaning you have to send away for so many types, god knows why.
