Mcgregor Defeats Diaz

There's a difference between backing off and regrouping and running. That was running.

Is there a distance your allowed to go like?

He got out the road, took a breather. If Nate thought he was running scared he should have chased him and finished him. I wonder why he didn't?

Because it's not a running race. Points scored on octagon control if you can stand in the centre and have a man run away scared to engage why Chase him. Like you say tho there should be a point where a certain amount of running sees a point deduction.

These ground guys are constantly taking breathers the only difference is they do it on the ground........do they get a point taken no they just get stood up......and quite often they are on the ground taking 2 and 3 minute breathers not 2 or 3 seconds like the stand up guys do.

If they are not working they get stood up. But they are still controlling the fight. Somebody running is not controlling anything

What do you think takes up more energy running or just laying in a clinch ?.......ring generalship and knowledge in taking breathers is the same whether you are on your feet or on the ground its just easier to get away with it on the ground.

I know amateur boxers that would beat the best mma fighters in any boxing match ...and second rate mma fighters that could beat world champion boxers in their discipline ...two separate sports its sil

If the time comes when a peak top level boxer fights a peak top level mma fighter it will be the beginning of the end for both sports in my opinion.........it would be completely absurd to put Mcgrego

I thought Mcgregor showed massive heart and poise in not panicking when under pressure.....towards the end of the second it looked like it was going the same way as the first fight and Mcgregor showed

Lads let's not forget that the reason McGregor is going uphill with the weight is because of his big ego and gob and nothing else... McGregor is 2-3 inches taller than anyone in the division he is a CH in, Same could be said that the other fighters in that division are fighting a bigger man that cuts a Faire bit of weight to fight at 145lbs. As I've already said the fight should have been stopped in the 3rd round, the running away and grabbing was like watching what mayweather did for years in boxing! A joke!

I doubt diaz is as high as that. That was rumours from mcgregors camp diaz said he was walking around about 177. Where folk get he is a massive guy is beyond me it's just an excuse for mcgregor fans. The reason the fight was at welterweight was because nate came off the couch with ten days to weigh in and made 170 comfortably. He's a 155lb fighter look at him in the michael johnson fight great shape.

Off the couch is not literally off the couch like it was years ago professional fighters just dont get out of shape anymore even in maintenance shape they are still in the gym most days if a normal human being had to prepare for a fight from scratch in 10 days they would barely last 60 seconds but fighters have a naturally high level of fitness meaning the circle of work/recovery gains are that much quicker......Diaz probably has around a 12/13 lb advantage in actual body composition in the way it relates to athletic structure over Mcgregor......knowing a little bit about athletic conditioning i always like to study a fighter both on the scales and in the ring and it was obvious to me that Mcgregor actually looked smaller in the ring than he did on the scales !......both lads looked full and healthy on the scales but the fact Diaz actually weighed over the limit ( why he wasnt made to take the weight off kind of defeats the object of a weigh in  ) suggests he was cutting weight to a degree so the true advantage he had during the fight was probably up close to the 12/13 lb estimated.

I find it strange to criticise mcgregors tactics in this fight, he changed what he had to to get the win against a bigger man who is extremely tough with excellent stamina. Mcgregor does lack a bit of wind imo and required a bit of a breather here and there, he would have been stupid not do that and it is entirely legal. Also it is not like he ran away for the whole fight. I thought he was stupid to take the first Diaz fight which he could have demanded at 155, which is the weight he was preparing to fight dos anjos at, and would have put Diaz at a huge disadvantage but he took 170 and it cost him big time. He avenged that in a TOUGH battle and still cops criticism. Fair enough if you don't like the lad but credit where it is due...

It's Diaz turn too dig deeper into the box next time n come up with better game plan ,

I've only watched a handful of ufc, seen first one of these fights n too be fair mcgregor learned from his first due fall with Nate, didn't like the running avoiding whatever but it bought him the time rest n range be needed too keep the advantage he takes up early doors, one round longer n I think Diaz would win all day long imho he looked worse than Connor but think he more durable n dangerous

Third fight I'm actually looking forward too ?
