Guest Snitch99
Had little read of this. People presume that only real bull xs are owned by the silent and wise and mature. Some best dogs i seen were young lads dogs off council estates. Keen as f**k. Atb 10 Quote Link to post

Atb You presume mucker, ive always been of the opinion the best grafted lurchers are often owned by the youngster, young, dumb and keen as owt,i wish i had my youthful enthusiasm and commitment back, saying that i wish i was far,far older and still had the same enthusiastic outlook and dogs that acquitted themselves better because of it.One older head and jukel is worth far more than presumption,i presume!. 1 Quote Link to post

singles 56
Trouble is some people are breeding dogs when they haven't been tryed and tested proply . I wouldn't breed from a dog unless he or she had at least 5 seasons under there belt and they have excelled in what they do . ............ Some dogs don't last 5 seasons their heart wants it more than their body will allow and dogs like that with serious/keen Dogmen behind them don't always last and then you wish you,d have bred from them earlier !! 4 Quote Link to post

jake824 517
Some nice ones on here lads. I do like these bull crosses my young bitch is only 1/4 bull and doesn't really look like a bull cross as there is wheaten, collie and greyhound in there aswell so not a bull cross by any stretch. But I would consider one in the future if bred out of the right stuff with decent feet. I ve bred and kept half crosses , reverse 3/4 and 5/8 x 3/8 gaz and can honestly say the best all round dog I ve kept was very similar to your bitch. He was first cross dam back to a lurcher of mixed breeding with no bull in the sire. A lot of lads saw him day and night and he put a lot of stuff away. When I sadly retired him at 11 I went to the heavier type but none have held a candle to him as an all round dog.My next pup will be something similar to your bitch. Hope she turns out well Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
I bred my bitch at 8 y.o. Wish I'd have done it earlier. It gives you a chance to do another mating ,and the possibility of in breeding, Or putting right if it didn't reach expectations. 1 Quote Link to post

My lad lost his mutt a couple of years ago, that dog had more heart, soul, brains and commitment than most, the fecking steel rod sticking out of the ground curtailed that mutts ambition,id own another with the same traits. 1 Quote Link to post

Hope she turns out well Cheers Jake. Appreciate that. Her dam was bull/grey X collie/bull/grey and sire was half cross wheaten grey although a few lads who had dealings with the dog have said it was 3/4 grey 1/4 wheaten so I won't ever know for sure. I know looks mean feck all but she's turned out just how I hoped. Decent size. Good head. Racey but strong with it. Can take a knock. Good engine compartment. Good feet. Decent coat and good thick skin. She is as keen as mustard and the most loyal dog I've owned yet. She's seen very little so I can't say how she's gonna turn out or even if she will make the grade but the few nights I took her out last season she did the job and really impressed me for a young bitch learning her trade. She's also took to the daytime mooching really well and knows to stick by the bushing dogs. So I've got high hopes and got my fingers crossed. 2 Quote Link to post
