3 Yr Old Killed By Dog In Essex Yesterday.

Dogs and ignorant people always = one thing, tears. Adding to that, listening to certain folk on here preaching their experience of dogs makes me cringe, I would not let some of the dim wits have a collar and lead, let alone a dog on the end of one.

Does that include yourself?

A lot of calm and collected , genuine working dogs will put a pup ( or a kid in its place) with a threatening growl..But it is not normal behavior for ANY sane and sensible canine to sink his teeth in

A young child is dead and it turns into a cock measuring comp-only on thl lol.atb dc

It's getting ridiculous,we're too tolerant of this sort of crime and owners are too tolerant of dogs in general. A dog that acts aggressive to a child should be in the ground that same day,and if it

Show me where I have? I told my experience of taking my brothers American Bulldog out for a walk, the dog had been fine with people upto that point and was fussing with the child in the house and outside the car. Once the kid was in the seat and I let the dog in the boot it flipped out, no warnings at all. Of course I jumped out the drivers seat and hit the dog, I'd like to have seen anybody do any different. Of course the Internet experts had to pipe in when they know feck all about the situation.

Fair play thought you was having a pop, can have banter with the best of them but can't stand smart arses who think they know it all when they know nothing.

I know nothing of AB, although I did keep APBT for 10-11 years in the late 70's through the 80's, they were kept for a reason, a reason I would never own them again tbh, 4 years ago I decided to get another running dog, before I got it I asked advice from certain members on here with more experience than me, think what I am saying is every breed is a different learning curve, and if you nothing about big powerful dogs and their breeding history keep away from them and for those that don't I will stand by my comment……….Idiots with dogs……….ATB ……Del

I had a American bulldog come from Oxford way a big strong dog pulled me over a couple of times when out hunting he would go through bushes like a spaniel he took a few different types of game he got in a few tussles as well but never got hurt and he was bomb proof never so much as a funny look to any person but I wouldn't have another one to many people breeding rubbish and I wouldn't want the worry of it biting someone

I had a bitch imported direct from Alan Scott who was as good an alrounder as you could want and have seen a few very good dogs over the years but unfortunately the shit ones far outnumber even the average ones.If I was going to get another one which I'm not there is only 2 breeders in the UK that I would consider getting one from.
The same Alan Scott who added Pitbull to his dogs to try make a name for himself? Some breed that AB.....
His dogs had it in them right from the start.

Exactly, just another puppy peddler making his name off the work of others..

Yes he was just another peddler in the end but no different to most of the game dog fanciers out there.Them yanks would all sell their mother if the money was right.

From the little i know about those bulldogs they were a working breed brought over here to not work......that never ends well regardless of the breed......at least a good percentage of the gamedogs that were originally brought over here were brought over to do the job they was bred to do.

Dogs that are wired to attack and kill a subject that is posing, no immediate threat to them,..are quite simply,.mental,...

Been around dogs all my life but only had one crazy bitch that would fear/bite an innocent party,...and that dodgy fecker pretty soon went to ground... :censored:

Facts are,..we are breeding far too many unsuitable and surplus canines, poor frustrated critters that live unfulfilled lives,..we just don't need so many dogs....

Mate 90% of the American Bulldogs that came over hadn't seen work in generations and once they started getting bred her the percentage got even higher.I wasn't arguing the side of the AB because I know most of them are rubbish And yes maybe the firs game bulldogs were bought over to work but that didn't last for long especially when old Ed got in on it.

Neither was I tbh, I'd not own another as like said they're 99% shite. Only 2 people in the UK if ever go to and one I already had a dog from and the other owns a littermate to the one I had. Not even seen another AB I even liked if I'm honest since owning my last.

My only point was i dont think its a fair comparison to make i remember all the videos and sales patter them American Bulldogs were getting based on their hog catching ability particularly those Scott dogs to which people imported them to be manstoppers and pets whereas a good amount of gamedogs were imported for the purpose they were bred ok there will always be peddlers in any breed that becomes popular but to import large numbers of a working breed with no intention of working them is taking the piss in my opinion.

I fully agree with you but he was behind a hell of a lot more that ended up as nothing more than pets and status symbols.
