Yes excellent gun! Mine was good straight from the box too, but I have fettled her to smooth out the cocking and firing cycle and she is just a joy to use.

I found the best pellet for mine is bisley LRG, jsb rs are good too, a little patchy with some other top pellets though.

Great fun compared to the heavier springers

Ye I have tuned a couple, I like them but find them hold sensitive, in my preferred .177 calibre it is a real struggle to get the power above about 10ftlbs which may suit some but I like my rifles around the 11.5 ftlbs mark, so its the .22 that really shines in this model, they really do need stripping out of the box, the last one I did was brand new, the horrible grease and turnings that came out of it, and embedded in the piston seal, was quite shocking, for a brand new rifle, but once done and a Vortek seal added, it was sweet to shoot and accurate, if a little pellet fussy.

Just to add, at some point, I am going to try a CZ 634 Slavia, I have always heard brilliant things about these rifles, and out of the box the piston runs on synthetic bearings, and knowing how good CZ powder burners are, I have a 511 .22 semi auto, and had a 527 .22 hornet, I dont think it will disappoint.

What they have done is fitted a delrin rod under a bit of spring pressure into the cocking arm, it does work, but I have heard one or two still sound a bit rough on cocking, mine were fine, but then I did do a complete de-burr and polished everything that could be polished, Tom have a look at the CZ mate, about 200 Euros from over the sea, brand new, and I really like the look of them, reminds me of the superb FWB sport.
