MIK 4,763
Out for 4:30 a very calm morning with very little wind but what wind there was was spot on for this bit of ground ....parked the truck and made sure I had everything and turned the first corner of a small wood with a barley field on the left and could see the back of a beast who was feeding with its head down but could see it was a buck by its size and looked like a very big bodied animal ...had a look through the Schmidt & Bender as my new binos still haven't arrived and he lifted his head to have a look about and I recognised him as a beast I've been into twice the past few weeks ...the first time was with a mate that I called in from a few hundreds yards out but he wasn't comfortable to take the shot and last week I had the young lad into him and again I didn't let him take the shot of the sticks . Stalked up the edge of the wood stopping every time he lifted his head ...got into about 100 yards set up the sticks gave him a whistle and he lifted his head above the barley and dropped him with a neck shot As big a bodied old buck as I've seen and he would of had a crakin head a couple of years ago 4 Quote Link to post
