Popular Post MIK 4,763
I have had the weeman out a few times this past few weeks to get his first buck ....there's not many 9 year olds that will get up at 4 am . Called and stalked him into a few but I have not been happy with the shot or he has just been to short to see over the cover. There's a quiet little corner on some permission of mine that holds a buck every year and we saw one there last night when lampin ...the spot couldn't be more perfect there's a silage field that was cut 2 days ago that would allow him to shoot off the bipod .... that looks down on a small wood about 2 acre . The wind was spot on and we set up and started calling with the butalo expecting the buck to pop out and give him an easy yard shot ....called and spied for about 20 mins and nothing doing so we headed back to the truck at the other end of the field . When I was putting the rifle back in the truck I spotted a buck running around where we had been lying .... Crept along the fence got the rifle set up on the bipod and gave a couple of calls and he came bounding in to under 100 yards with a good back stop .....told the weeman to remember what I had taught him on the target breathe ,aim ,fire and when he turns broad side to take the shot . A good safe a clean kill Well done Dylan hopefully the first of many 22 Quote Link to post
