Hello new to this site.just wondering what pellets everyone prefers for the hw100kt in a 177 cheers

Hi there,

 

I don't have an HW100 but I do have an HW110 and the barrel is I believe the same. I have tried a few pellets and thus far the gun likes the medium weight H&N Barracuda Match 10.65 grain (washed and oiled). I can group them nicely at 30 and 40 yards but they start to go a little awry at 50 yards but then again, that could well me. I have only been shooting air rifles again (after a break of some decades) one day a week for the past 2 months.

I hunt with my HW 100 KT .177 and I have used AA Fields 8.4 gr, 4.52 exclusively for over three years now, very hard hitting and extremely accurate.

I use the jsbs as above 8.4 4.52

Bisley Mags work well as do JSB Heavies and JSB Exact in fact most are quite good except AA Fields and RSB Superfields.

Well here are AA fields results - poor info there saying this pellet is poor in the HW 100`s.

 

 

Despatch was "instant".

Accuracy outstanding.

AA express 7.9 gr @ 806 fps and what a great pellet in mine , AA fields , JSB heavies , all very good as well but the express are something else

AA Express, or JSB Express (same pellet) are to be trialled next in my HW100 kt .

 

Here`s the results of my T Rex with the trialled JSB Express 7.87 gr , 8.42 if it helps any.

I said they were poor in mine Mark, NOT all HW100's and I am buggered why they don't work in mine, I bet mine is the only HW100 that they don't actually perform in. The express do just not paying that price.

Rifling on a barrel is like a fingerprint, there all different !

I start off with aa field and take it from there, good pellet in the majority of guns.

If you've got any mates that shoot ask to try a few different ones cos it can cost a fortune and some will be sh!te!! Lol
