stealthy1 3,964
I gave £560 for my HW100KT brand new years ago, and all I've spent on it is pellets and the odd couple of drops of 3 in 1 oil down the barrel, and a wipe with an oily rag. The knackers out of a few pairs of DPM light weights every now and then abseiling barbed wire fences, and a run about motors, and that's it. Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
I've not spent much on air gunning.. Think its like anything,if you've got the money to play with, the more you play.. I've had same hunting clothes for years,my coats at least 12 years old.. I've spent cash on vans and jeeps but I'd of had to have a moter anyway for shooting or dog work.. I reckon if I was better off,I'd get into a syndicate on the stalking or driven shoots.. Doubt I'll ever have the spare cash lol Quote Link to post
PeskyWabbits 464
I have had 13 airguns. Only two bought new - (ASI) Gamo Magnum and Webley Vulcan Custom. Both long gone. The good thing about second hand is that they are already run in. I think I have spent about £1500 on hardware, if that. Since I was about 14. I have had 29 cars though. Only one new one and I still have that after 20 years. Got 4 at mo' but I only pay £200 for my daily drivers these days. I have a bit of a third world lifestyle. No TV, home grown veg and meat - ducks, hens, pigs. Stove and oil for heating. No readymeals, everything done from scratch. Shooting is a great sport. outside in the lovely countryside. A great time, even if you don't shoot anything. And even with the rising cost of ammo, it is still cheap. 500 goes for about a tenner. Much cheaper than beer and football...and womanising. 3 Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
That's true if you bought a second hand Springer, scope and a tin of pellets for 200 odd quid you could more than save that in food over a year if you eat what you shoot and still sell it for the same money. PeskyWabbits 464
Tonight's tea What makes the hobby (more) expensive, is the compulsion to buy more equipment. One gun is all you need. If you must, get a spare, but don't get it in the other calibre. Now where is my aim point for this distance/angle? Quote Link to post
Rabid 1,936
Ha, thousands upon thousands, I wouldnt even go to the extreme of adding it up. Don't regret a single penny though 2 Quote Link to post
