Stoper/carpal Pad

Recommended Posts

I f your dogs injured its stopper a few times the scar tissue will make it a vunerable spot. Hardening it will dry it out and make it more vunerable. You can buy purpose made stopper protectors that protect the stopper They usually have velcro fastenings, or get a 3 or 4 inch piece of cycle tyre inner tube put that on when working just be careful it isnt to tight and restricts the blood flow

Out with some hounds one day when one had his stopper ripped. Huntsman said its always doing it,and as luck would have it a vet was out with us,he come over and cut it off with a penknife. He said that was best way to deal with them because it always tears again in same place.

Lad I know, had a dog and was resting him for 6 weeks, take it out ,would split again. This kept happening mate.Got it removed and was spot on.So I would agree with jeemes, if your dogs keeps doing it, get it removed asap as you may only be putting off the inevitable. Would rather do it now than in mid season. Hope you get it sorted

Anyone know how much it would cost roughly

Think the lad who I know had to take up around Oldham ways. I have just lost all my numbers out of phone mate or I would have give him a bell and asked him how much it cost. Sure it was around £100-£150 and if I remember right, think the bigger the dog the bigger the cost. His was a big dog around 40kg+.
