young1982 1
I want to get a lakeland next year but other than looking in the countrymans weekly i'm not sure where to start, what names should I be looking for in the world of lakeland terriers? I don't mind travelling so thats not a issue as long as I get a good dog at the end of it. Cheers Quote Link to post

young1982 1
Where would you suggest I start looking then? You would think if someone is known for breeding good WORKING dogs then you stand a good chance of getting something worthwhile from them. At the moment I’m uneducated in what to look for in a Lakeland, if I went to look at a litter I wouldn’t have a clue what dog to pick. What should I be looking for? Quote Link to post

Guest proudy
i dont mean to knock anyone on here but ive just clicked on to a post by calvin under pup. he says in one post that calvins dogs never fail, and yet under the topic pup he's got a patterdale, and needs to know at what age they fill out something cant be right can it ? ??? Was involved in a discussion relating to terriers that fight - can they graft. His mate Digzy said how good calvins dog was (his strain). Then I read another post asking how he should enter his pup from this strain. Thought calvin must've had a lot of experience but he bought the start of this strain as an adult dog. Confusing? Cheers mate do your own leg work . get on the net , get round the shows , get out and have a good look round , do your own reserch , try and get a picture in mind of what your looking for . keep your eye on the cmw for pups see the parents . . most threads started on here like yours turn into slaggin dogs off Quote Link to post

I personally don't visit shows much, but on the occasion I do I wouldn't take my dogs. The countrymans weekly seems to be the place for breeders selling their wares at extortionate prices aswell. You really want to see the parents work but I guarantee you nobody would be stupid enough to take a stranger out that has responded to an add. Well bred terrier pups rarely need to be advertised Quote Link to post
redrob... 0
maybe join the famwtc, go to the meetings and ask if they could point you in the right direction, or try a working terrier club near you, stay away from £500 super dogs in the cmw a peddlers paradise Quote Link to post
