french? British bulldog half cross for me. They take a while to get there and leave a trail of slobber like a slug but I'm proud as fxxk . Does piss you off keep lifting em in and out the van though ?

Hello, recently signed up to this site as I'm considering getting another dog. Currently have a lovely Beddy Whippet, but want something a bit bigger and robuster. I really like the look of the Bull Lurchers I've seen but am wondering what the most common Bull blood is in them. Everything that's advertised just says 'Bull X' but doesn't specify. I'm assuming it's normally either Staffy, APBT, Bull Mastiff. Are there any other types...boxer or something? What is the most common or standard 'Bull' in the X. (Ok - I'm not expecting everyone to come on and admit to having APBT blood in their dogs cos I don't want to get anyone in trouble - but if people just - ahem - indicate whether that's common or not, I'll take the point).

Ignore all these haters on here mate they thing every one is an anti so they get a little bit high rate..realy there all lovely people with great big caring hearts .. As for the bull blood everyone noes that the best lines off bull blood come from French bull dogs. Crossed to a grey hound they. Would kill a mouse rat and rabbit just by looking at it all tho if your going after a squirel you mite have double up ...

I'd only ever have a staffy (possibly frenchy if I wanted to make a few quid for flights to Benidorm) blood in my lurchers! With the high caliber of blue show bred staffs about why use anything else ?

I don't think bull x lurchers with APBT blood are even technically illegal as long as they don't fit the standard of "pit bull type" which I'm sure most wouldn't....

The legislation says crosses of the banned breeds are slo banned (never seen anything about what percentage counts though) but how would they ascertain whether it was a hybrid or not, the only test they have to determine if a dog is a "pit bull" or not is going by physical characteristics. If they don't fit those parameters the dog isn't of type and isn't illegal. Edited August 9, 2016 by BGD
