An official of one of the world's largest Christian charities has been arrested by the Israeli security service, accused of diverting millions of dollars to the terrorist group Hamas...

It says he "lead a double life" , but the details aren't clear yet, so I'm not sure either.

You do not have to be Christian to work for a Christian organization I know of many different faiths which work and teach in Christian schools and even churches. Christianity, while flawed IMO does preach and practice fairness, equality and charity. Different faiths do not get the same treatment in Islamic or Jewish schools and organizations but no one bats an eyelid, in fact if you complained about this you would surely be deemed rascist!

 

Edited to add if he was pretending to be Christian surely he would change his name from Mohammed.

But, if this IS proved to be true, then a major stream of terrorist funding has been disrupted.....and surely we all support that, don't we ?

I think you've misunderstood me, so let me clarify.

 

I meant in what way are they "my" government, and not yours ? Since we both live in this country, surely it is OUR government - like it or not !

 

Foreign aid I would best describe (as I have many times) as a good way of transferring money from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries. I do not support it, and never have, never will.

 

But this isn't about foreign aid or the nature of our government. It's about a news story that caught my eye - a source of terrorist funding has allegedly been disrupted. In itself, maybe it's not that interesting, but the alleged source is funds donated to a major world charity, intended to help the poor and needy in Gaza.

 

I don't see why you, of all people, wouldn't find that the primary concern........

Most "Charities" with a very small number of exceptions are scams plain and simple . As for Gaza /Palastine its one of the oldest unresolved matters before the UN so surely that august world body that is suppose to protect the rights of the oppressed and down trodden. should resolve that issue or would you prefer the Muslim charities fund it and then give certain groups the opportunity to claim The Muzzies are funding terror groups? Its not a source of terror funding The West bolstering and fermenting conflict in Sovereign states this funding, support and weaponisation under various headings. Until the West intervened once again in 1947 to distribute Palastinian land to form Isreal there wasnt to much problem in Gaza or the West Bank other than the British occupation, but thats history so it doesnt matter, not as much as the alledged funding of Hamas . fighting further annexation of their already eroded lands.

Money was allegedly donated by people in Australia, USA and UK, to alleviate the situation of the poor and needy in Gaza. This man allegedly channelled those funds from their proper intent, and gave it to Hamas, a well-known terrorist group.

Explain to me how that is NOT a source of terrorist funding.......

nothing surprises me these days where the money goes
