There was a thread a while back and a couple of lads mentioned deerhounds in Ireland ,including a breeder on the Meath / Westmeath border.

fella in castlepollard,westmeath alan used to breed them.havent seen him in a few yrs..he prob be at that fair in birr castle.

i spoke to fella in Ireland last year had used a deerhound/wheaton greyhound dog - it was a black rough dog 29 inch and was supposed to be an excellent fox dog

Was he a dublin lad i met a fella at tommy cullens first fair had a dog of similar breeding was a good lump of a dog looked handy

no i'm pretty sure he isnt in Dublin

this dog was very racy and had a deerhound shaped head.
