nickdonboy 264
So, I have a 10 week old pup and a 17 week old pup. As you can imagine 2 pups is a handful however I really can't complain how field and house training is going. How many of you guys have house dogs? I try and keep 'home time' as calm as possible. Not letting them get too carried away when they're playing. I don't give them unlimited access to toys so playtime is on my terms and normally used to stimulate training in the field which seems to be working pretty well. To prevent chewing and any mouthy negative behaviours in the house I give them chews like beef trachea and raw bones. Just wondering what your experience is with pups in the house. Advice welcome. Teckers 662
I always have my pups in the house for the first couple of months to form s good bond and socialise then with people kids etc and to Get them potty trained I can't stand a dog who shits and pisses in the kennel and then gradually put them in the kennels with the other dogs when they're used to them Quote Link to post

bhawk 64
Got to admit I'm a soft touch, all my dogs are in the house. My pup is fine in the house and is coming along great. Can't wait for this season to start. Recently got a little terrier pup for ratting too, she's just turned ten weeks old and had all her jabs. She's learnt what she can and can't do already and generally just harasses the lurches and ferrets most of the day. Luckily my partner is home most of the day so theres always someone here to see to them. Quote Link to post
Somewhereyournot 1,117
I find dogs are better out the way in my household as there's lots going on and too many people to encourage bad habits. My dogs are very well behaved. My pup has ever been in the house and he's not really puppy ish really. Like he's matured abit quicker. I like it like that though. Quote Link to post

Otik my older boy gets a bit longer, an hours walk at slow pace. I just carry Penny, the young'un, ha. I think it's good for them seeing the big wide world at an early age, finding that balance of stimulation is key although I do walk\train them separately at times. Patience, consistency, persistence and routine. Fingers crossed I will have well behaved dogs Quote Link to post

Hope your not making a cross for your own back there mate, keeping two soon to be juvenile dogs chilled in your gaff will take some doing especially if their brought up to believe the house is a play area , Outside play inside rest/ crate or some other way to restore order, in a couple of weeks bold pups will start regarding cushions and soft fabric as much more prey like than bones and chews Best of luck 1 Quote Link to post
