philpot 5,005
Well I just got back from the game fair and spent some time looking at the 970, yukon and ATN oh yes and Nite Site but leaning towards a dedicated unit rather than an add on although I do not exclude the Ward but they were not at the show. It wont be a Pulsar however as they are way beyond my reach. I have bought a new IR torch to start with so something to try. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,005
Following on from my NV saga and it's lack of showing any distance over 15mt, the unit went back to the cottage industry that made it. The chap was so helpful it was a pleasure to deal with him, he was not at all happy that the image was so poor and requested the unit be sent back at his cost to sort. Yesterday the NV arrived back safe and sound but as I have been helping at my daughter's house, I didn't get chance to try it out until tonight. The camera has been replaced, to be honest I think he has replaced the whole kit, I focused the lens for my scope recticle setting and off into the garden and field next door to try it out. I am well pleased, good sharp image at 100mt+ on trees/ plants etc using the new T50 IR torch I bought at the game fair. Next job is to go to the perm and look for some eyes looking back at me. I know it isn't a Ward D700 or 800 but it is what I can afford for now but at least it works which is fine for the present time. Missed a D700 on ebay this week, £470 but in truth until my boat is sold, no spare cash.......................anyone want to buy a RIB/Outboard package ?? Phil 4 Quote Link to post

philpot 5,005
I was going to put it in the sales section but it will not allow unless I am a donator or something like that but it is on some other forums so fingers crossed. Phil Quote Link to post
philpot 5,005
NV update I want to throw this fecking thing in the River Humber................F&*%$£^?@ After a great result when the NV was returned back to me, I tried it last night, I am back to a max of 15mts range. I cannot get my head around this issue. Going to contact one of the guys on airgun forum who has a great understanding of add on NV and is in West Yorks so not too far. I am getting more p1ssed off by the minute. Phil Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Still got the sun shade on Phil ? Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
Where you at Phil? It must be something to do with the ir. I get 200m plus with my home brew add with a Sony camera but have to adjust the ao and where the ir is pointing. Quote Link to post
tomburras 2,730
Did this also happen with a different torch? Did you find out if it was a sony E700 camera fitted? Quote Link to post
philpot 5,005
Yes, E700 Two different torches but I agree it think the torch is to blame some how. I am recharging all the batteries I have and run tests again tonight using different torches and gun/scope combinations. To be honest, I may convert this unit into a spotting scope because it has been superbly made and it will not go to waste. I have tried with and without the sunshade. I am over on the East Coast near the Humber Bridge Treecreeper. We will see what results I get tonight Phil Quote Link to post
