jok 3,317
Read all the posts and they do conflict a bit. Google Danner and see why the American military and related forces rate them so highly. They are expensive, but as the saying goes, you gets what you pays for. Quote Link to post

bull mcabe 595
Five years out of your meindl dovres isn't bad. It all depends on what you do with them and how often your in them. A couple of hard seasons digging a couple of days a week and you'll go through any boot. Edited July 26, 2016 by bull mcabe 2 Quote Link to post
timmy k 591
I'm in them nearly every day, but you don't understand I'm a minge bag! For £200 + I'd expect them to outlive me. I bought my car for 200 quid for fucks sake and that still going strong 6 years on minus a few rattles. 1 Quote Link to post

I've had my fill of sub standard boots. thats why I'm known as trenchfoot 1 Quote Link to post
bull mcabe 595
Lol well said timmy now I get you! I suppose it depends on how long you expect to get out of them. But after 3 seasons digging even though there well maintained mine are showing wear and tear. Quote Link to post
pablo esc 1,598
Don't you ever use good rigger boots? Quote Link to post
pablo esc 1,598
Twat when briars slash em but dry and plenty of force and warm .bit heavier like walking but not that bad Quote Link to post
timmy k 591
Theirs no such thing as good rigger boots! My feet are f****d wearing them things for work, their decent for about 3 months then fall to pieces. In fairness the meindles are a good solid comfy boot but the price of them brings a tear to my eye. I'm deffo gonna get them seal skin socks to last me till crimbo then ask santa for a new pair 2 Quote Link to post
Moorman 1 1,408
Had Altbergs and Diotto both with Sympatex and both leaked first time out. Got refund off both and went and bought good ole faithful Meindl Dovres. Had Lowas and Meindls for many seasons both kept me dry week in week out. Recommend both! 1 Quote Link to post
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
I bought the Meindl Glockners last Summer and can't fault them so far. I've previously had the Le Chameaus, Altbergs and Lowas and rate these above all 3. Although the HanWags look a nice boot also. What you need to watch out for is the cushion type stuff used between the boot and the sole as once it begins to perish they are difficult to have the boot re-soled. The Glockners were the only boot I found without it. Quote Link to post
