Ive had a few of the socalled top boots and the best for the money ive had are the cold weather army boot with the vibroom sole hard wearing waterproof and comfortable

I wouldn't have a pair of fell boots given me, total shite, things have moved forward mate

they ain't great for mooching about I agree, but they're top for on the shovel. Can walk for miles in them and don't find them uncomfortable. Like every boot, they're waterproof until your shin deep in water.

I'm gonna give them Irish Setter Elk Trackers a go. They look sound enough.

 

I also think them Brandecosse look the bollocks too but they aint cheap.

Them brandecosse will leak like a seive sympatex is terrible lining

 

I've never had a problem with sympatex. works well enough in the Altbergs. Its more to how its integrated into the boot rather than the lining itself

I've had 3 good seasons out of a pair of meindl dovre extreme gtx. Can't fault them really.Every pair of leather boots need constant treatment to keep them supple and stop them cracking. I'll probably pick up another pair during the season.
